Weirdsmobile Productions was started in 2005 by husband and wife team John and Lotti Knowles. Their goal: make fun stuff.
John V. Knowles is the director of the feature horror-comedy CHASTITY BITES. Additionally he wrote and directed the award-winning short film SHADOW.NET, and conceived and directed music videos for artists such as Lewsor, TL Forsberg and Deborah Gibson. John is also a partner in Conceptive Inc., a branded entertainment and marketing firm that produces high-quality digital content for corporate clients. An “Army brat” who grew up all over the world, he finally landed at Drake University where he earned a BFA in Graphic Design. He worked in that field for several years until he caught the filmmaking bug and translated his artistic and communication skills into production and post-production work. His work has been seen in various film festivals including Montreal HorrorFest (Best Director), Lund Fantastic (Sweden), Cleveland International, Las Vegas (Golden Ace Award), Dragon*Con (1st Place, Thriller), Dances With Films, Orlando (Independent Spirit Award), Action/Cut Short Film Competition (Semi-Finalist), and The Film Series at CineGear Expo (Finalist).
Lotti Pharriss Knowles is the writer and producer of the feature horror-comedy CHASTITY BITES, producer of the feature documentary I AM DIVINE (SXSW premiere), and co-producer of HBO Documentary Films' Emmy Award-winning VITO. Lotti also produced two award-winning short films with Weirdsmobile, SHADOW.NET and WEAK SPECIES, and the world premiere run of her play BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO WORDS (2007 LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award nominee for Best Ensemble and World Premiere Play). BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO WORDS was published in 2011 by Northwestern University Press in an anthology titled Katrina On Stage. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Lotti earned a BS in Performance Studies at Northwestern University and an MA in Theatre at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, she developed her skills as a writer, solo performer and producer in the Chicago theatre scene, where she also served for two years as managing director of Live Bait Theater.
