After the hugely successful Vampire-Con 2009 commercials, Weirdsmobile Productions created three new vignettes for Vampire Vineyards and their new web store: Wicked Wines Online.
Weirdsmobile’s production of the Vampire-Con videos proved their ability to rouse the horror market and beyond; the vignettes collectively garnered over 33,000 views and generated a huge national buzz. Vampire Vineyards has expanded beyond its original scope of wine and revamped into a full supernatural brewery. Under the new umbrella, Wicked Wines Online brings together an entire host of products, from the brand new Witches’ Brew Ale, Sasquatch Wines, the already existing Vampire Wines and Vampire Energy Drinks, Chocolate and Coffee. It was perfectly logical to bring Weirdsmobile aboard in Wicked Wines’ goal to broaden their market; the Vampire-Con vignettes reached horror fans across cultures, from mainstream, to GLBT, to the Latino community. Weirdsmobiles’ three new commercials for Wicked Wines highlight the new Witches’ Brew Ale, Vampire Vodka and Dracula Wine. The first commercial casts Dracula as the romantic lead that L.A. nightlife is lacking these days. A single woman’s mournful plea for a real man in her life invites Dracula (and a cloud of roiling fog) inside, along with a delicious glass of Vampire Wine. The second spot for Vampire Vodka finds two vampire vixens at the kitchen table, bored with drinking human blood. Their victim, still alive and quickly fading, takes the opportunity to save himself, and points to the bottle of Vampire Vodka on the shelf. What do two vampire ladies make with Vampire Vodka? Bloody Mary’s, of course. The last commercial is for a non-vampire product: Witches’ Brew Ale. Set in a downtown nightclub, a jaded witch turns the slimy pick-up artists who hit on her into the toads they are, and all matters of the heart seem lost… Until she lays eyes on the stud drinking Witches’ Brew Ale.
